Grief is a human experience to be honoured, and healing comes from holding space not just for pain, but also for joy.

As I stared at the photographs I wondered if I’ve been so immersed in the ordinariness of life that I didn’t notice the extraordinary?

Living The Sailboat Life required me to surrender control, trust that what I needed would always be provided, and lean into "I don’t know".

"I’ve lost the plot" is a British expression that I love, it’s a colloquial way of saying "I don’t know what I’m doing right now."

For now I’m going to put my big girl panties on and ignore my knee jerk reactions to quick-fix my anxiety when life gets difficult.

As I reflect on the last 24 hours, I realize now that some of life’s most important lessons can be learned by running a marathon.

Life was good, or so I thought, until about a month before my 40th birthday at which time it felt as if an emotional dam had burst open.

To this day, when people ask me how I had the courage to change my entire life, my reply is that it wasn’t so brave. Life forced my hand.

During this period of mourning I knew that in spite of life’s curve balls and crippling uncertainty, I was exactly where I needed to be.
