The Almaguin Highlands is home to locals and local artisans whose work graces the shelves of our local shops and welcome you into their homes. My favourite place to visit is The Crystal Shoppe in South River, it's a magical wonderland. Here is a list of passionate artisans and where to buy food, antiques and locally made natural skin products.
Groceries Galour
There are four places to shop for groceries in the area. The closest store for essentials is Eagle Lake Narrows Country Store (2370 Eagle Lake Rd). The largest and nicest grocery store is Foodland (10 John St, Sundridge). The Freshmart in South River sells President's Choice products (298 Hwy 124, South River). There's also the Magnetawan Grill & Grocery (4244 Hwy 520, Magnetawan).
Berriedale Schoolhouse Antiques
Established in 2007, Berriedale Schoolhouse carries a wide selection of antiques and collectibles. They also buy, sell, and trade single items or whole collections including: furniture, toys, advertising, tools, native artifacts, service station wares, outdoors equipment, military items, decoys and porcelain. Visit the historical one-room schoolhouse at the 1870s pioneer settlement of Berriedale in Burk's Falls.

Crystal Caves Shoppe
Next door to the Crystal Caves Mineral Collection is a stunning crystal shoppe with a meditation pod, fairy garden and throne. Every square inch is magical, even the ceiling is a work of art. At the back is Studio Four Thirty Two, featuring nature and landscape photography by James Toth.
The Crystal Caves is located on HWY 124 just south of South River.
Artisan Village
Next door to the Crystal Caves is an Artisan Village where artists sell their sculptures, paintings, soap, handicrafts, fibre art and woodworking. The Artisan Village is located on Highway 124 just south of South River.
